I've never heard an exaggerated rit. in the 4th movement like that at 10:35. I have to say, though, it sounded very fitting and epic.

学生とかアマチュアの演奏じゃ全然聴こえないような音が、めちゃくちゃはっきりクリアに聴こえてくるのは流石だなって思う。 あと、管楽器群がオケ色強いせいか、聴きたいところで適度に軽く抜けてきてめちゃくちゃ聴いてて気持ち良い。

La parte del Trombone è quello che aspetto sempre di più con ansia, perché ho sentito pochi suonarlo come si deve e lui è stato fantastico. Brava tutta l'orchestra e il Maestro che la dirige!

I played this in concert in about 1962 with the Tournament of Roses Band (Bb baritone horn).

I played this in high school in about 1960 (2nd trumpet).

Everyone is losing their mind over the horn players, but all of the musicians were fantastic And the conductor rendered a wonderful interpretation of Reed’s work. It seems like folks are used to the horn section barely making it though this piece, but they did their job. The woodwinds were impeccable, and the percussion section was the exact compliment it was supposed to be. Oh, and having a harp is what most of you are not used to. When composers write music, playing it correctly is what’s expected. We’re all just so used to “almost” that correct is beyond what you’re able to comprehend.

This is perfect!!! Loud in the right places. Super crisp in fingering and articulation. When I feel "nostalgic" about a piece I have played, you DELIVER. I had the absolute privilege and pleasure to play this in 1991 at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in the Thursday night ballroom concert. We were under the practice and tutelage of Andrew Perry, Director of the West Genesee Wind Ensemble. Rodney Winther of Ithaca College directed us at Midwest. I was so fortunate to go to West Genesee. Andrew Perry COMMISSIONED R. Gallante's "Cry of the Last Unicorn" for his Mom. She was an amazing woman. I am so fortunate to have been exposed to this level of artistry in high-school.
